Carbon Sequestration

 Sequestration is the process in which CO2 is removed from the atmosphere and stored in the soil carbon pool.   Carbon-fixing microorganisms such as microalgae and cyanobacteria are able to sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in order to increase their biomass and utilize this to generate biofuels. This is done through several different mechanisms, the most common being through metabolic activities.  Holistic Planned Grazing is a planning process for dealing simply with the great complexity livestock managers face daily in integrating livestock production with crop, wildlife and forest production while working to ensure continued land regeneration, animal health and welfare, and profitability. 

 We focus on fast growing trees that draw down carbon from the atmosphere at an accelerated rate and release oxygen in exchange.  Next time you take a deep breath of air give credit to a tree or hug a tree in thanks for what it gives us – the very air we breathe.   As trees grow, they help stop climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, replenishing water tables with rainwater, providing habitat, encouraging biodiversity, supporting micro-organisms and soil development and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. Trees provide many benefits to us, every day.
