As greenhouse gas GHG emissions from human activities increase, they build up in the atmosphere and warm the climate. This leads to a domino effect around the world in the atmosphere, land and oceans like acidification, rising sea levels, loss of biodiversity, loss of habitat and human migration among other catastrophes. We implement carbon drawdown through our local farmers . They practice regenerative agriculture, rotational grazing, afforestation or reforestation and collectively drawdown CO2 to deposit carbon in the soil. We mitigate methane partnering with farmers to install biodigestors and with local governments to install waste to energy systems for local communities or even state wide.
In 2022 emission levels increased by 1.3%, Carbon dioxide concentrations in 2021 were 415.7 parts per million (ppm), methane at 1908 parts per billion (ppb) and nitrous oxide at 334.5 ppb.
Methane emissions are exponentially worse than CO2 pollution. Renewable natural gas, RNG, is derived through methane mitigation. By harnessing RNG we can collectively consume methane that would otherwise enter the atmosphere. When RNG is used to heat your home, fuel your stove, power vehicles, create electricity, etc. greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are significantly reduced. We consume methane pollution released by a variety of methods, including but not limited to food waste, livestock waste, open air landfill, wastewater processing, sewage centers, municipal solid waste pickup or processing and organic waste. Using biogas, biomethane or syngas vs fossil fuels is a fast and effective way to reduce emissions. RNG used in residential, commercial and transportation sectors is a growing solution for energy without fossil fuels. The waste to energy W2E process produces alternative fuels that are obtained from renewable sources. Examples of alternative fuels produced are methane, ethanol, electricity, methanol, syngas, synthetic fuels, bio-fuel and biomass briquettes.
We employ a multifaceted approach to reduce GHG. To mitigate methane we transform MSW to energy, implement biodigestors for farm waste or food waste, biodigestors for fermented livestock feed. The W2E mitigates methane and the waste bi-products fight deforestation for lumber. Additional W2E bi-products are fertilizer, fly ash, sand, electricity and alternative fuel sources. In parallel we drawdown CO2 via desert afforestation. We are also committed to CO2 drawdown via regenerative agriculture through cover crops and rotational grazing by intensive livestock management and harvest.
The native trees planted are fast growing nitrogen fixers to drawdown CO2 at an accelerated rate. They fertilize dirt and transform it to carbon rich soil feeding bacteria and microorganisms. This new life attracts bees, insects, bats, birds, reptiles and more. Afforestation in the Sonoran and Chihuahuan deserts supports biodiversity and in turn creates a healthy ecosystem.
